Cheltenham Gold Cup Results

Over the last six years we have seen one major super star in Best Mate who won the Cheltenham Gold Cup in three consecutive years in 2002, 2003 and 2004. Best Mate died prior to the Cheltenham festival in 2005 where he was preparing to win it for the fourth year. In 2005 a new hero emerged in Kicking King and unfortunately he injured himself in winning the King George that same year and while he has just made it back to the track after two years off it is unlikely that he will recapture his best form ever again. In 2006 another Irish horse took the honour in War of Attrition and he also has been sidelined with an injury.

Kauto Star won the race in 2007 and he is attempting to repeat his victory this year and he is favourite to do so.
